The Quantum Optics HolophotoTM Three-Dimensional Process may be used for advertising on video screens, signs, billboards, and building walls. For each of these applications, a special screen surface is required. The special screen is an active optical element that transmits light waves to the eyes of viewers telling them that they are looking at a realistic three-dimensional scene.
Motion picture commercials on three-dimensional HolophotoTM televisions are produced in the same way as three-dimensional movies for theaters. This is very straight-forward.
However, the concept of three-dimensional signage is different. There are two types of HolophotoTM signs. The first type is only for still-life 3-dimensional photographs. They are similar to the currently available 3-D lenticular pictures, but with much higher resolution. These signs may be any size, and they may be placed in a wide variety of locations.
The second type can be used for both 3-dimensional still-life and moving picture signs. The current trend in the advertising industry is to broadcast still or moving pictures onto light-emitting-diode (LED) displays. The display panels comprise a large number of multi-colored LED’s. People look at these displays to see TV images. When viewed from far away, viewers cannot see the individual LED’s. These displays are currently used on billboards and exterior walls of buildings. People who visit major cities are confronted with buildings that show 2-dimensional television commercials on their walls. The HolophotoTM Three-Dimensional Displays can replace these 2-dimensional LED display panels.
A HolophotoTM screen can be manufactured in any size and shape. It may be either flat or curved. Therefore, it can replace LED billboards, and it can replace the LED panels on buildings. Like their LED counterparts, displays on HolophotoTM screens may be viewed at night or in broad daylight. The object of using LED signage is to provide dynamic content and better gain viewer attention. The object of using HolophotoTM displays are the same. However, an animated holographic display will attract more viewers than a 2-dimensional sign. |
